What my husband loves in the kitchen

Surely you guys must get a bit sick of hearing me talk about the things I prefer in the kitchen, so let me tell you what my husband Tim loves for a change. He’s pretty adept on the pans and with Father’s Day coming up, I started thinking about the things he (and all the other Dads out there) might like as a gift. Maybe you’ll get some inspiration.

Tim loves his MAKO Black Steel Steak Pan. No wait; he’s OBSESSED with it. When we launched this pan last year I was away working, and he kept texting me. About the pan. And how in love with it he was. Non-stop. He’d send me texts like this:

See what I mean? Obsessed.

Tim is passionate about steak so the correct pan is critical for him; it has to be made of black carbon steel for the right super-high, even heat, and for the delicious crusty sear it gives. The MAKO Steak Pan is his go-to.

He also loves the new MAKO Black Steel Frying Pans. With more of a rounded shape these are perfect for sautéing a vegetable side dish or two while the steaks cook over in the sear pan. He’s a boy with his toys once he gets his pans fired up.

Tim also loves a heavy wooden board for prepping, and then flipping over to serve his steaks, sliced up and perfectly cooked to medium-rare. For this he loves the MAKO Butcher’s Block, which is made of acacia heartwood so it doesn’t blunt our knives as much as other boards do, and it also looks good when presenting those steaks. Important!
