The 10 best cocktails that’ll cause a stir at your celebrations

Nothing says celebration more than loved ones at your place and an array of vibrant drinks to keep the good times going. Whether you’re enjoying Christmas festivities with the fam or more of a ‘just because’ sitch going on with friends, I’ve got the goods. So raise your glass, grab the shaker and say cheers to my all-time best cocktails recipes.

10 best cocktails worth celebrating

Who needs to go out when you can rustle up these easy cocktails at home? I’ve got spicy, zingy, fruity and even non-alcohol cocktail ideas to bring the bar to your place.

1. White Sangria Punch

1. White Sangria Punch

This White Sangria Punch is a light and zingy Christmas cocktail to share with loved ones. And just look at those ice cubes!

If you don’t serve punch, is it even a party? This White Sangria Punch is the perfect festive refresher to get the good times going. With a pinot grigio and cointreau base, it’s light, fruity and full of citrus notes… and it’s all thanks to that soda pairing. Because it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that zing: this zesty wonder unites Tahiti lime from Mexico for the perfect sharp-to-sweet ratio with Japanese yuzu for its incredible floral flavour. It’s light, it’s got bite and it’s GOT to be on your table this festive season.

And would you just take a look at those cool-as-anything ice cubes, my friend. Frosty fabulousness bursting with fruits and herbs to make this perfect punch sing even more.

2. Vodka, Cherry & Pink Grapefruit Cooler

2. Vodka, Cherry & Pink Grapefruit Cooler

Muddled cherries, tart pink grapefruit notes… this is both fruity and fabulous.

If you’re in the mood for a long and refreshing sup-worthy quencher (because Christmas is thirsty work, fact), this Vodka, Cherry and Pink Grapefruit Cooler is tart, tangy and pretty darn terrific in my book. Muddled cherries make friends with a pink grapefruit soda, with premium vodka adding a touch of “don’t mind if I do” (leave that last bit out if you do in fact mind though). Now it’s time to don that Santa hat, raise your glass, and say merci, mon cherry.

3. Peachy Long Island Iced Tea

3. Peachy Long Island Iced Tea

Got guests? Then they’ll be peachy keen for a pitcher of this sup-worthy cocktail.

Now this is my kind of iced tea: peach purée, makrut lime syrup and a symphony of spirits that harmonise with Fever-Tree’s Smoky Ginger Ale – where earthy ginger meets prominent but clean smoky notes. Topped with chargrilled peach cheeks, my Peachy Long Island Long Tea is a refreshing choice this Christmas, come rain or shine. Plus it’s perfect for sharing!

4. Blood Orange Whisky Collins

4. Blood Orange Whisky Collins

Simple but satisfying, this whisky collins gets a blood orange twist and the result is FINE.

So you want to wow your guests with your cocktail skills this Christmas BUT you don’t want to be stuck in the corner by the drinks trolley all day? Then this Blood Orange Whisky Collins is WHERE. IT’S. AT. Because the method behind this one is so incredibly easy: pop ingredients in a shaker, pour over ice, then top with Blood Orange Soda. Job done, down the hatch, cheers my dears.

5. Elderflower & Raspberry Sorbet Slushie

5. Elderflower & Raspberry Sorbet Slushie

Ditch the booze without losing out on flavour with this fabulous alcohol-free cocktail.

For any non-alcohol-drinking guests, try this Elderflower & Raspberry Sorbet Slushie – also a guaranteed winner with the littlies. It’s got sweet and floral notes as well as tangy tartness from the raspberries. Oh, and not to mention serious cool factor.

6. Pina Colada Vodka Soda Pop

6. Pina Colada Vodka Soda Pop

If you like Pina colada… then you’ll love this fun popsicle take on the classic cocktail.

I’ll take my cocktail in frozen form, please! If you like pina coladas, then this is the love you’ve looked for. These refreshing, citrussy and coconutty Pina Colada Vodka Soda Pops bring some fun to the festivities and are a great make-ahead option for a party. Three cheers for adults-only popsicles!

7. Mango, Mint & Cucumber G&T

7. Mango, Mint & Cucumber G&T

One sip of this and you’ll be transported to tropical paradise.

This fancy twist on a classic gin and tonic developed by Fever-Tree Ambassador Trish Brew (check out her top cocktail-making tips) combines fresh mint and cucumber with the sweetness of mango. Oh, and there also some rather beautiful botanicals in the mix thanks to my choice of tonic water. Mix, stir and sip your way to a tropical island this Christmas.

8. Blood Orange Margarita

8. Blood Orange Margarita

Zesty, spicy, salty… this margarita is all the zings.

My Blood Orange Margarita is a delicious twist on the classic cocktail. It’s a heady mix of tequila, cointreau, lime, agave syrup and a delightful dousing of Italian Blood Orange Soda. And the salty rim? That, my friends, is a lip-smacking, tingle-tangly salt and Sichuan peppercorn combo that totally hits the spot.

9. Dark & Stormy

9. Dark & Stormy

This Dark & Stormy cocktail is drinkable whatever the weather!

Could this be Christmas in a glass? My version of a Dark & Stormy cocktail is the ultimate tipple to curl up by the fire with this holiday season (or, in my case, under the air-conditioning unit!). A delightfully drinkable blend of spiced rum, lime, festive spices and ginger beer… bottoms up. Fancy a no-alcohol version? No worries! Avoid the rum for a virgin version that tastes equally as epic.

10. Classic G&T

10. Classic G&T

Sometimes you just can’t beat a classic…

I’ve got friends who’ve always said they aren’t gin fans, but I’d actually go as far as saying it’s the tonic water that’s previously put them off. This Classic Gin & Tonic recipe of mine uses Fever-Tree’s Mediterranean Tonic Water, and it really does make a world of difference. Give it a whirl and see what you think.

So there you have it: my ultimate top 10 best cocktail recipes for you to make at home. I can’t wait to hear what you put in poll position!
