C’mon, what are you waiting for?!

What is leg of lamb?

If you’ve been wanting to get into cooking more lamb recipes at home but the cuts all seem overwhelming, you are not alone! Whilst you may be more accustomed to lamb shoulder recipes or even ground lamb recipes, lamb leg needs to be on your radar if you’re after juicy, succulent lamb!

Lamb leg is a large and super succulent cut that is sourced from the hind legs of the lamb. Lamb legs are also able to be butchered into smaller cuts so if you want something a little smaller, your butcher should be able to make that happen for you!

Lamb leg is generally most popular for a Sunday roast, BUT roasting is absolutely not the only way you can prepare lamb leg!

What else can you make with lamb leg?

Whilst lamb leg is generally the most common cut used for roasting lamb, there are so many more things you can use lamb leg for. You can use strips of lamb leg to make stir-fries, or add them to lamb noodles, you can even use it to make san choy bow if you want lamb in a way that is a little bit lighter than the classic roast lamb.

If you’ve been putting off using lamb leg because you aren’t a fan of roast lamb, rest assured that there is so much more to be done!

Noodles, stir-fries, lettuce cups and of course the Sunday roast. If you haven’t had lamb leg…you need too!
